Marriott's Life Story
Although an Israelite, I was born in a village/small town, called Mahalapye, in Botswana three decades ago, give or take a few years. As you might have notice that my name is not a Setswana (language of Botswana) name, it was given to me at birth by a Roman Catholic father whom I choose not disclose at this time. This precious name means a lot to me, as it is one of the few things in this life that has good memories attached to it.
Education
I started my primary education from standard one to seven at Ithuteng Primary School in Gaborone in the late 1970's. I also had my junior secondary education in Gaborone at Gaborone West Community Junior Secondary School. I later went on to do my high school education at Lotsane Senior Secondary in Palapye.
When I finished my high school I went on to do my national service (commonly known as Tirelo Sechaba) at Moshopha - about 12 kms East of Sefhare. I have completed my Bachelors Degree in Business Administration (Management) at the University of Botswana. And now I am working at the Department of Road Transport and Safety, as the Officer-in-Charge of the Fairground Mall office in Gaborone.
Spiritual Life
I was born-again in 1990 at Lotsane Senior Secondary School while in high school. And since then I have never looked back on God Almighty. God spoke to my heart and asked me to give His life to him at that time, and to me it was so real that I had no doubts that it was God who was speaking to me. Not only did God save me that day, but He also healed me supernaturally on my arm, which no doubt was broken that day. God also called me to be His witness (he that has seen and proclaims or declares what he has seen.) And I can assure you that I have seen. I believe that I am to witness to God's people that Christ Jesus is the Son of God. And that He is the Lamb that was slain from the foundations of the earth and that His love for you, me and everybody else is far beyond what we can ever think or fathom. This is my purpose and destiny in life which cannot be taken away from me.
During my national service (1991) I was with Pastor Mmutle's church fellowship in Sefhare, even though I was staying in Moshopha. There were no churches then of born-again Christians in Moshopha at the time. When I came back to Gaborone after I finished my national service, I joined the GoodNews church. This did not work out either and later I moved to Holiness Union Church. At the present time I am at Word Alive Ministries in Gaborone.(Pastor Mmutle's Ministry)
Hobbies and Interests
Computers are my favorite. I am at home when I am at a computer, I have even taught myself a little programming. We move in a technological age that is changing all the time and I have purposed not to be left behind. Everything nowadays is computerized, and I believe to have no or little knowledge of computers is living dangerously.
I also like roller skating, swimming, cycling and playing computer games (by the way, computer games and computers are not the same thing, just in case you did not know). I don't quite enjoy going out that much; it may be because I am mostly a private person. Some people may think that I forgot to mention going to church and reading the Bible as interests, but these to me are more than that, they are a life-style - they are part of who I am and cannot be separated from me.
My favorite foods are: Bread, pasta, white meat and generally all fruits - with a few exceptions of course.
My least favorite are: Maize meal, mushrooms, sorghum meal, olives and red meat.
